Rush to Glory book review --HY

Formula One, the top racing event in the world, is my favorite sport to follow. However, racing today never what it was back during the late 70's - early 80's. With the time changing, the rules, cars and tracks are changed. Back to 70’s, these drivers raced the fastest cars with minimal safety precautions around the most dangerous tracks in the world. Racing in those days was really risky. If you do not focus on it every second, you might die. At that time, racing was just the racer and the machine and nothing else. V8 engine, five speed manual gearbox. They had no traction control, they have no sequential gearbox. They did not have technology as nowadays. It required more skills during that time. They took these V8 behemoths (ticking time bombs as well) and drove them to their potential, risking life and limb to win.

Rush to Glory is the book which is about the 1976 formula 1 season where two of the best drivers in Formula One race against each other. It was the Austrian and defending champ Niki Lauda from Ferrari versus the first British driver who is from Mclaren James Hunt. They were two drivers have totally different characteristic. If you read the book you will see why. The book is very dramatic and if you are not a big Formula One or racing fan like me you will still love it. Felling the stress, pains and glory these drivers felt. This book is like a time machine that can take you back to the 70’s. It helps you to know what happened during that time. I'm a big F1 fan but I really did not know much about the racing in the 70’s. So after I read this book, I found out new stuff I never knew about Hunt and Lauda. Furthermore, I learnt more thing about Formula One racing. So even you are not a big fan about racing, you can still be able to read it. Also, they have already made a movie about it called "Rush" but the book and movie have some disturbing content for future warning. So read the book first then you can see the action unfold on the Big Screen.
