Review on Top Gun

Tony Scott director of the hit movie Top Gun starring Tom Crusie, Tim Robbins, and Kelly McGillis was absolutely out standing. It is a must see movie with it's action to the romance between Tom Crusie and Kelly McGillis. Even the soundtracks add on to a list of reasons that make this movie so wonderful.

This movie is about students at the Navy’s elite fighter weapons school that compete to be the best in the class, as one daring young flyer learns a few thinks from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom. This movie is a bit on the older side but with its thrill and excitement you don't realize that it could be older. Although it’s older the aerial shots are certainly a great feature to this movie.

The exact Storyline given “Maverick is a hot pilot. When he encounters a pair of MiGs over the Persian Gulf, his wingman is clearly outflown and freaks. On almost no fuel, Maverick is able to talk him back down to the Carrier. When his wingman turns in his wings, Maverick is moved up in the standings and sent to the Top Gun Naval Flying School. There he fights the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story of his father's death in combat that killed others due to his father's error. Maverick struggles to be the best pilot, stepping on the toes of his other students and in a different way to Charlie, a civilian instructor to whom he is strongly attracted.”

Top Gun is proved to be a very effective recruiting vehicle for the Navy. The suspense from the movie is intriguing to a young audience making them want to enter the Navy. It is a movie that you can start and stop watching at any point and still enjoy.

There is no character development over the course of the movie, although the Cruise character goes from cocky to shaken to cocky again. Many of the characters have nicknames that sum them up in a word, such as Maverick and Iceman.

Overall the movie is a must see. Everything works together to make this movie fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone that has any interest in action movies. It is a one of a kind and it will be one of your favorites.
